International Music Summit Ibiza announces 2017 edition!

IMS, International Music Summit, is one of the most influent festivals worldwide.

Next May will be celebrated in Ibiza  IMS 10th anniversary, and as usual it will be unmissable.

As all the years, IMS presents a program with many important guests, conferneces and events:  2017 edition will take place 24th till 26th May.

So, save the date,  because of the countdown for Ibiza 2017 has started.

The organizers said:”International Music Summit (IMS) is the three-day inspirational and educational platform held annually in the dance music capital Ibiza. A wide spectrum of electronic music industry professionals participate in a series of talks, interactive workshops, intimate networking opportunities, inspiring dinners and club events led by skilled experts, experienced business minds and talented artists.
 
IMS sets out to educate, inspire and encourage the sharing of new ideas and 2017 marks a decade of dynamic change in the sector and provides a theme for this year’s most engaging debates.
 
Founded by electronic music industry’s most respected individuals including Ben Turner, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong MBE, and Ibiza heavyweights, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto and Simeon Friend, participants and curators alike, they all share a passion for electronic dance music and culture and are invested in shaping its future. The curators invite the most relevant, candid and thought-provoking speakers with participants from all around the world – providing a tangible opportunity to connect and learn.
 
IMS speakers over the decade have included David Lynch, Quincy Jones, Chuck D, P.Diddy plus every major DJ on the planet. The founders of YouTube, Instagram and Twitter have all spoken. Nile Rodgersand Giorgio Moroder made the first Daft Punk collaboration announcement on the stage at IMS. Lynch’s recent music career was revealed at this event in Ibiza. It was the Ibiza delegates who supported IMS partner Ben Turner’s vision to take IMS a step further, to create the much-needed global trade body AFEM: Association for Electronic Music. The annual IMS Business Report also helped measure the global value of electronic music for delegates to use to win deals and, in many cases, sell companies. IMS founding partner Pioneer DJ have also been integral to the event’s success with continued products revealed at the event, and critical industry products like KUVO were conceived from discussions at the IMS Ibiza event.
 
IMS Ibiza takes place during the island’s opening season week, with a multitude of high profile events in iconic venues including Pacha, DC10, Amnesia and Ushuaia featuring the world’s biggest DJs. This year there is a return of the ‘Back2Live’ event – a special and unique showcase that celebrates the crossover between electronic and live music.  There is also the annual IMS Legends Dinner to honor those that have left a legacy on the culture and industry. Previous award winners include Nile Rodgers, Fatboy Slim, Sven Vath, Carl Cox and Pepe Roselló, Founder of Space Ibiza. 
 
Thereis of course a fitting Grand Finale, offering the opportunity to dance in one of the most uniquelocations in the world – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dalt Villa. Undoubtedly a rare and alternative opportunity to dance on and enjoy the 2500-year-old castle. Previous headliners have included Carl Cox, Solomun, Sven Vath, Rudimental and Pete Tong.“

IMS Ibiza legends dinner presents: Pepe Roselló !

The countdown for IMS Ibiza 2016 has started, and- as all the years- the team of Ibiza by night will partecipate to all the activities.

One of the most important moments of IMS is the “Legends Dinner” that will be celebrated next 25th of May at Space Ibiza terrace, and for 2016’s edition the guest will be the legendary owner of Space Ibiza,  Pepe Roselló .

“International Music Summit can now reveal that Space Ibiza owner, Pepe Roselló has been named as 2016’s recipient of their coveted ‘Legends’ award. Given to a pioneer in the electronic world each year, previous winners include Nile Rodgers, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and Carl Cox, with the celebratory banquet set to take place on Space’s legendary terrace on Wednesday 25^th May – a fitting location for dinner guests to see the club for one last time before it draws its final curtain. 

Presented by Ballantine’s Scotch whiskey, the IMS Legends Dinner will celebrate Pepe and his 27-year legacy of Space. Widely regarded as one of the most recognized and respected businessmen of the Balearic Islands, Pepe Roselló was born in Ibiza in 1937 and has spent a lifetime dedicating himself to the world of musical entertainment and is a true embodiment of what the award honours. Previously the Second Major of San Antonio, Pepe established his club owning career with the San Antonio club, Playboy, in 1963 before taking over the reigns at Space in 1989 – and has gone on to build the venue into a musical Mecca for tens of thousands partygoers today.

 Having been behind the club’s trajectory for almost three decades, Pepe’s initial bookings of techno and trance legends Sven Väth and Marc Spoon have been intrinsic to the club’s success. From there on in, parties were only getting bigger and better, with Sasha, Richie Hawtin, Steve Lawler, Dave Seaman, John Digweed and Carl Cox to name a few all hosting parties. Its cornerstone residency ‘Sundays at Space’ proved to be one of the world’s most celebrated and loved club nights, and showcased the world’s most exciting electronic music talent through marathon day to night parties each week. Ibiza by night meets NERVO. The exclusive interview!

Last Monday, 13th July at Ushuaia Ibiza, NERVO presented their new album “Collateral”.
NERVO are two Australian sisters (Liv and Mim) that in the last few years have stormed the world’s charts with their music .
The artist’s, NERVO, are completely loved in Ibiza.

They are always smiling and they are the kind of artists that never say no to a selfie with a fan!
This year NERVO has prestigious collaborations with artists such as David Guetta and will play several times during summer 2015 in Ibiza.
‘Ibiza by night’ met them at the end of an amazing party, and they were, as usual, incredibly nice and very open…we talked about Ibiza, the new album and about Italian food!

IBN: Let’s start with your new album which is finally available!
Liv: “Yes, it was hard work, but we are very happy with the final result, we love “Collateral”!
Ibn: You have many prestigious collaborations on your album…
Mim: “Yes! Many great friends such as Kylie Minogue and Nile Rodgers helped us, we are so happy with it! We wish to say thanks to all the team of artists that cooperated with us”.

Ibn: NERVO and Ibiza, how is your relationship with the Island?
Liv and Mim:“We love Ibiza, it’s a fantastic place. We currently we live here, we have many dates confirmed on Monday night’s plus on other days so 2015 will be a great summer. In Ibiza you can feel a special energy and let me tell you that we are very happy to be back in Europe, we have Italian roots!”.
Ibn: You have Italian roots…so tell us which is your favourite Italian meal…?
Liv: “Well pizza first of all, but I love all Italian cusine!”.
Mim: “Pasta and Pizza, but as far as Pasta is concerned I love linguine!”.

Friday, Hard rock Hotel Ibiza presents: Chic featuring Nile Rodgers!

Next Friday, from 6 pm,  Hard rock Hotel Ibiza will celebrate the opening party with a great concert of Chic, featuring Nile Rodgers!

For the great musician and producer (last summer he produced the hit of Daft Punk)  is a great return in the island..and  Hard rock hotel, the new elegant location of Playa d’en Bossa will start its first season with one of the most loved artist worldwide!
