Ushuaïa Ibiza: the perfect opening party

Usually we don’t write reviews about the parties.

But this time it’s different; yesterday we attended the Ushuaïa opening party, which we believe was a most perfect event.

Why? For several reasons.

First of all, the organization was very professional but it was the music that really made the difference.

We arrived at the club in Playa d’En Bossa early, and got to hear Los Suruba: we have loved them for many years as they are genuinely really good artists.

Then it was the turn of the Japanese Dj and producer Hito.

She played a most beautiful and elegant vinyl set. We think that Hito should try and find more space on the island, and we hope that it will happen soon.

After Hito? The stylish Mr Guy Gerber arrived, an artist who really makes a difference: he produced an hour and a half of some really great music.

If you arrived at Ushuaia late and missed his set, we are truly sorry as you missed a remarkable performance.

After Gerber, Maya Jane Coles played, and we liked her set too.

After Maya, was the turn of “the Landlord” – Andrea Oliva.

The Italo/Swiss Dj and producer has been synonymous with good music for many years, and this time Andrea scored another incredible result with excellent and eclectic music. See you soon at ANTS!

Up next? Two brilliant performances by Joris Voorn & Hot Since 82: these are artists who know how to make their audience happy and their sets were exceptionable. Everything was then ready for the great finale, and Richie Hawtin took control of the stage: we know and have loved Richie for many years.

He’s an artist with his sound and his successful history.

His performance was simply beautiful and without compromise. Richie most definitely has the authority to play that way.

So, our compliments to Ushuaïa for an unforgettable opening party in 2016, and no doubt a great summer season!

Breaking news about Amnesia opening party!

Amnesia Ibiza four our ago gave an important announcement about the opening party.This is the text:

“OFFICIAL RELEASE: AMNESIA OPENING
We need your support!

You will never dance alone friends and promoters; We are Ibiza

10 years ago, we had to fight alone against the schedule restrictions on the clubs and the “afterhours” prohibition in Ibiza, that supossed to us the sanction to close for 1 month in 2007.

At this year 2016 and trough the constant pressures by the institutions of the island, restricting the schedule´s clubs to promote other interests and having accepted and paid all the fines that have been imposed us and deny one more time the exceptionality of a morning schedule for the Opening.

Although don´t share the decision of the official institutions and before this drastic negative, Amnesia has decided to accept it and change their Opening time from 16: 00h to 06: 00h, producing 14 hours of music followed with new additions on the final Line up as Ricardo Villalobos, Pan – Pot and many more surprises to celebrate the biggest party that Ibiza has seen in a long time and will never forget; because, despite the continuous obstacles and disadvantages that put us on the road, we will fight that the magic continues in Ibiza and avoid that the music stops.

Finally, we apologize for the constant changes of schedule, due to external causes that have wanted to avoid the most important event of the summer that has held and affected many of you personally.

Nunca caminaréis solos amigos y promotores; todos somos Ibiza

Hace ahora 10 años , tuvimos que luchar en solitario contra la restricción de horarios
de las discotecas y la prohibición de los “ afterhours “ en Ibiza . Eso nos supuso la sanción de cierre por 1 mes en el año 2007.

Llegados a este año 2016 y ante las constantes presiones de las instituciones de la Isla, por restringir el horario de las discotecas para favorecer otros intereses y tras haber aceptado y pagado todas las multas que se nos han impuesto, se nos ha vuelto a negar la excepcionalidad de un horario matinal para el Opening .

A pesar de que no compartimos esta decisión de los estamentos oficiales y ante esta drástica negativa, Amnesia ha decidido acatar la decisión y cambiar su horario de apertura de 16:00h hasta 06:00h, produciendo 14 horas de música seguida con nuevas incorporaciones al Line Up definitivo como Ricardo Villalobos, Pan – Pot y alguna sorpresa más para celebrar la fiesta más grande que haya visto Ibiza en mucho tiempo y que jamás olvidaréis; ya que, a pesar de los continuos obstáculos e inconvenientes que nos pongan en el camino, seguiremos luchando para que la magia continúe en Ibiza y evitar que la música deje de sonar .

En último lugar, queremos pedir disculpas por los constantes cambios de calendario, ocasionados por causas externas que han querido impedir que se celebre el evento más importante del verano y que ha afectado a muchos de vosotros personalmente.

Breaking news: Space Ibiza reveals the line up of the “Opening fiesta”!

Space Ibiza has revealed the line up of its last  “Opening fiesta” in Playa d’en Bossa! The event will take place Sunday 29th of May, and, because of it will be the last opening party in the actual location, it will be unmissable.

The organizers said:”SPACE IBIZA is the front runner to the start of the Summer, whilst the Island’s wide array of brands, clubs and venues begin to plan, Space Ibiza is proudly poised ready to signify the commencement of the Ibiza season with its now legendary opening event. For 27 years Space Ibiza’s opening party has left an unforgettable global footprint, countless memoires and feelings of love, togetherness and excitement for millions fans around the world.

Traditionally marking the start of the Ibiza summer clubbers religiously fly in from all over the world, from Europe to The USA and further a field – all coming together to dance, celebrate and enjoy some of the best DJs and electronic artists the scene has to offer.

Throughout a multi-roomed spectacular the white isle’s most coveted club is completely transformed from cavernous venue into a festival of music hosting a breathtaking array of DJs. Bora Bora Ibiza announces the opening party and also a special event!

Bora Bora Ibiza, the cult beach club of Playa d’En Bossa, has announced the opening party 2016.

Since many years Bora Bora is an institution on the island with its free parties: save the date, season 2016 will start next 27th of May with a “Grand opening party”.

Ushuaia Ibiza is preparing a great season 2016!

Ushuaia Ibiza is the beach club that changed definitely Ibiza’s lifestyle.

With its amazing daily parties (that end at midnight) Ushuaia created a new concept of clubbing in the island, and now is almost ready for an amazing season 2016.

After an excellent summer 2015, where played successfully artists as Axwell and Ingrosso (with “Departures”), Avicii, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Nervo, Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren, Uner, The Martinez Brothers, Maya Jane Coles,  Nic Fanciulli and where were hosted cult shows as Ants (with Andrea Oliva and the colony’s dream team) Ushuaia has in store several news for next season.

In next weeks will be revealed all the guests and the shows for summer 2016, but one date is certain: the opening party, next   28of May (read here).

And then? Well, as we already wrote, there will be a BIG news (read here), then is very easy to imagine that Ants will be back with its colony of performers and excellent dj’s.

This is the news of the day. Ushuaia Ibiza, the cult location of Playa d’en bossa, has announced the opening party 2016!

Ushuaia is “The Place” that has changed definitely the life style of Playa d’En Bossa, and in these years has hosted artists as David Guetta, The Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell, Avicii, Pete Tong, Marco Carola, Martin Garrix, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren, Bob Sinclar, Louie Vega, Andrea Oliva, Nervo, just to mention some names, and shows as “Ants”, “Departures”.

Now Ushuaia is back for a great summer 2016.

So, save the date, the appointment is for next 28th of May!
